driving lesson today

January 22, 2008

I’ll be leaving shortly for a driving lesson……I can’t wait to be done with this so I can go and pass my license test. I’ve been at this for almost eight years now…..when I started I pretty much knew I’d take a long time to get it………I didn’t realize it would be eight years and counting…….there are reasons for that which I couldn’t even imagine when I started learning driving at about sixteen years of age. I’m 24 now…. (NOTE: when pronouns like “I” are used, they refer to the perspective of whomever is typing an entry. In this case, I means “The Integral” because that’s who is typing this entry. That’s another story for another entry, this is just a brief explanation to whomever reads this.)

Update: the lesson was so-so. Mostly because I had no idea what I was doing when I first got to the testing site……the instructor took me through the entire test……..a few practice runs………..I had never seen a testing site like that before……….the maneuvers were being done in places very different than what I had seen in Maryland………of course, different state, different testing type………but, thinking that something will be different and actually seeing it……….the mental knowledge versus the physical knowledge of something can be very different indeed! I think part of it was also that my mind was a little bit elsewhere…….my instructor gave me a bit of a strange vibe too………part of the time he seemed as if he was barely awake……..I’m not sure whether I will stay with him at this point……..I forgot to call my parents again but I will do that tomorrow and talk to them about it………

I’ve got a thing for ellipsis points, for some reason. I’m not sure what that reason is yet. Haven’t thought about it much actually. One of us might come up with an entire post on the topic of ellipsis points….

Don't ever change yourself to impress someone, cause they should be impressed that you don't change to please others -- When you are going through something hard and wonder where God is, always remember that the teacher is always quiet during a test --- Unknown
